“In English, we speak of the 'Elephant in the Room' as a heavy truth that goes unaddressed. In India, however, the elephant is celebrated as a sacred vessel of divinity—Ganesha, the remover of obstacles.During festivals like Holi or the Jaipur Elephant Festival, these magnificent creatures are painted with bright pigments: red for purity and green for fertility. This piece is a literal construction of that transformation. Sculpted by hand using paper-mâché, I have layered the form with special, curated papers, building the elephant’s strength out of fragile materials. This is my personal 'Remover of Obstacles’.
